what are you trying to say? that Christians can’t be gay. Of course they can. Us gays dont discriminate against religions. Any Christian who wants to be gay is welcome into our community, and we wont try to change you or tell you that you are wrong

Hi, Dave. Thanks for the comment, and your welcoming stance – but I’m not certain you can speak for everyone who identifies as gay. Certainly I know several gay people who do discriminate against one religion or another. And rightly so; we’re meant to be discriminating in what we think is good or not. That’s why you’re questioning my stance and good on you for doing so. To answer your first question, no I’m obviously not saying that Christians can’t be gay (check out my other posts) – but I don’t think it’s very straightforward what that might mean for a Christian? The gay Christians I know hold a variety of different stances on the issues, and most of them have come to their position after a lot of prayer, study, and struggle. I honour their integrity in their love for Christ. They’ve taught me heaps. I happen to differ from some of them on what it means for a homosexually-oriented Christian to follow Jesus, and to agree with others. But they’re the one’s who have to make the hard decisions, not me.
